The Southern Suburbs are a group of suburbs in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. This group includes, among others, Observatory, Mowbray, Pinelands, Rosebank, Rondebosch, Rondebosch East, Newlands, Claremont, Lansdowne, Kenilworth, Bishopscourt, Constantia, Wynberg, Ottery, Plumstead, Diep River, Bergvliet and Tokai and offer many gems i.e. the Kirstenbosch Gardens, Newlands forest, Constantia Neck, Constantia wine farms.
The "Kirstenbosch National Botonical Garden" offers an impressive and very extensive insight into the fantastic diversity of South African flora on an area of over 600 hectares at altitudes ranging from 100m to over 1000m. The garden is easily accessible and well signposted from the M3 between Cape Town and Muizenberg (De Waal Drive).
