In Camps Bay, beautifully situated just below the 12 Apostles, restaurants and stores line the waterfront promenade, and the large beach bay is the largest of those close to the city. With its palm-lined promenade, white sandy beach and majestic mountains in the background, Camps Bay has quickly become one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Cape Town region.
Finally, Camps Bay, with its large sandy beach, is a seaside resort, party venue and trendsetter all in one. Young people in particular come here to sunbathe, play beach volleyball or jog along the water's edge. After sunset, half of Cape Town seems to meet up with flashing cars for "cruising". The atmosphere is relaxed, although it gets crowded at weekends, especially at sunset in the summer months. Then the traffic jams up in front of the restaurants and you sometimes have to wait a long time for a seat.
During the week, however, when it's not the vacation season, the road is easy to drive on and you will have the opportunity to stop here and there and look out over the roaring sea, the enchanting sandy beaches and the 12 Apostles mountain range ... You won't be able to resist the temptation to count the individual peaks.
