Former theme park in Milnerton. The 355 million rand theme park (theme: historic mining settlement) was only opened at the end of 1998 and tries to compete with similar parks in Florida. The park has been closed for a few years now, but can still be visited during the season. Walk around and also try out some of the rides (extra charge). Some fast food stalls were still open for a while and in 2018 the park as such was finally closed. However, as the park is beautifully laid out, investors were interested in it and now want to use it as an office complex. Nevertheless, we would like to show you a few impressions from the park's better days.
Where the Ratanga Junction amusement park once attracted families with breathtaking rollercoasters close to the N1, another complex with stores, restaurants and residential buildings has now been built. However, a large part of the facilities have been transformed into a beautiful park with paths, boardwalks and a lake. And at the entrance to the Canal Walk Mall, right next to the N1, the world's largest bronze sculpture "The Long March to Freedom" is impressive. It consists of over 100 bronze statues.
