Milnerton is a suburb of Cape Town on the Atlantic Ocean about 11 km north of the city center of Cape Town. Milnerton is known for its excellent real estate, the Milnerton Golf Course (with its uniquely fascinating view of Table Bay and Table Mountain) and the excellent transport links to the city center of Cape Town. Milnerton's most popular attraction is the lagoon with its wooden bridge, after which the island connected to it is named - Woodbridge Island. The Diep River flows into the sea about 1 km south of the wooden bridge in the direction of the Lagoon Beach Hotel.
Palm trees line the banks of the lagoon on the beautiful walkway between Woodbridge and the lagoon. A wide variety of birds can be observed here and it is a small paradise for birdwatchers. At certain times of the year, there are even flamingos and pelicans, which find plenty of food here.
The mainland and Woodbridge Island are now connected by a new bridge that leads to a large parking lot. The lighthouse, built in 1960 and still in operation, is Milnerton's second landmark alongside the wooden bridge. The promenade is a popular meeting place at sunset as you can see Table Mountain, the bay in front of it and the town center at the same time.
