Bloubergstrand

The name Blouberg is said to be due to the fact that Table Mountain can often be seen in blue haze colors. Another theory says that the Blouberg itself is often shrouded in blue haze. Blue Peter Hotel classic here: sit on the lawn of the Blue Peter Hotel or on the beach in front of it in the evening and enjoy the view of the illuminated mountain.

The view is also an experience during the day, especially when the waves break on the rocks in front of the beach and a play of colors of "blue" Table Mountain, green water, white spray and brown rock not only enchants holidaymakers, but also attracts lovers and film crews. From Bloubergstrand, you can view Cape Town and Table Mountain from one of the most photographed angles - the foaming blue-green sea in the foreground. The Ons Huisie restaurant on Stadler Road, with its fish and Cape Dutch dishes, is also a popular destination.

Kitesurfers love the winds and the water here. On one day in 2015, there were 415 at the same time. A world record! National and international windsurfing competitions are held on Bloubergstrand. The walk along this kilometer-long beach becomes an experience with the classic view of Table Mountain (approach via R 27 northbound via Milnerton).
